cream cardis.

Hello lovelies!
So.. super quick post today; there's a lot of homework on my to-do list.. it doesn't help that I like to be really organised and finish assignments the day they are given out.. hahahha.
Anywho, wore this recently to a family gathering. I love this new cardigan, the photos don't do it justice one bit, it's actually really thick and drape-y and sooo comfortable.

Best be off now; there's really not much time left before my exam.. and I don't want to have gone through a whole year of maths and end up with a terrible score! I'll be back next month with some more outfit posts, so do stick around :)
Thanks for all the support, lovelies!

my necklace, again!

Hello!
This a a pre-written post, since I know I won't have any time for a while :)
A little while ago, I posted about one of my favourite necklaces, but the photos of it came out fuzzy as I turned flash off my camera, and once I do that, it's blur-mania. Then, a friendly reader kindly pointed out the little control called Macro, that every camera has. It's made photo-taking so much better. Cannot believe I didn't discover it before. See, this is what you get when you don't read the instruction manual! I never learn.
Anyway, I decided to take better photos of it and repost!

I love this necklace!

Heels: yet another Tony Bianco (mmhmmm; anyone say obsession?!)
Tights: Razza Matazz (polka dots :D)

So sorry about the bright photos, but it was such a lovely sunny day, perfect for a quick outfit shoot before I went out for lunch last Sunday;
the sun makes me wanna frolic in the garden with my puppy dog, take pretty pictures with my dad's old film SLR, eat cookie dough ice-cream, and attempt to jump to the sky in heels!
Anyway I best be off, back to reality.. where there's never enough time to study for exams, sigh.
Hope to be back soon but no guarantee.. maybe in 2 weeks?
Love you all, my awesome followers!

my seven fashion secrets.

Hello, lovelies!
The gorgeous Kenzie of Kenzie Faith tagged me to confess my 7 fashion and style secrets, so here goes!
1. The internet, fo shiz. Lookbook, Chictopia, blogs, you name it, I've been there. I bookmark my favourite looks and sometimes when I look back, I can picture an outfit inspired but not too similar, by that certain look. That's why I adore this blogging community!
2. My sisters' wardrobes! I go through their clothes, they go through mine, and we're able to create new looks without having to buy new clothes. It's awesome, especially since my oldest sister is a shopaholic. No joke. Both my sisters are pretty stylish, too, for that matter. Maybe one day I can convince them to feature in an outfit post!
3. My inspiration wall. Whoever walks into my bedroom will notice the poster-covered wall on the right; it's filled with pictures of pretty models in dainty outfits, magazine cut-outs, words of wisdom, post-it notes, letters from friends, pretty jewels, etc, etc, etc. Oh and a picture of Chuck Bass, because I love him. Anyway, it's a lot of inspiration right at my fingertips.
4. I try to stear clear of impulse buys, items of clothing bought only because they were 'in'. I try not to buy clothes that, once the season's over, will be considered 'out of style'. If you take each piece of clothing of mine, you'll probably notice they're not trendy, they're just simple pieces I can wear for years to come and it won't matter.
5. Organisation and preparation. I'd like to say I'm both of these things, but when it comes to fashion, I'm really not (schoolwork however, is another matter). I do try to be fashion-organised, so sometimes I take certain pieces of clothing that need some more wear, bring them to the front of my wardrobe, and try to match them with new pieces. The trick is not to wear the same pieces of clothing over and over; mix-and-match. I know it can be difficult, I always seem to prefer new clothes, forgetting the old. It's a vicious cycle and habit.
6. My mum's vintage 80's - 90's wardrobe. Enough said.
7. Last one! Hmmm, as for make-up and all that jazz, well, I don't wear any. It's too much hassle and I think, from watching my sisters and mum applying make-up, it's too time consuming for a person who likes to be on the go like myself. It might be because I'm just too lazy to try make-up, but I don't know.. Maybe I'll try some red lipstick in a post, but that's as far as it'll go!

I'm passing this onto anyone who happens to read this blog post! Be sure to link it back to my page and leave me a comment, I'd really love to read your 7 fashion secrets :)
That's all for now, lovelies! I might be M.I.A for the next two weeks; school is kicking my butt, lately. I've got a year 12 exam coming up.. Why oh why did I choose to skip a grade in mathematics, of all subjects! I'm only a year 11 student, but this final year exam will be the second year 12 exam I've taken . I guess I really like to be ahead in school..(nerd)! Hahaha

my favourite high-waisted shorts!

Hi, lovelies!
Wearing my favourite high-waisted shorts and the cutest blouse, which belongs to my sister unfortunately. Lucky thing I have two older sisters, we're around the same height and build, and they let me borrow all their clothes. Score!

Tri-strap Heels: Tony Bianco (I forgot the name of these heels, argh!)

this girl..

Two words. Alexa Chung.
What a style icon.

I've never been the type to say this person or that trend influences my style, 'cause then I feel like I'm meant to be mimicking what I see. Despite this, I reckon Alexa Chung is one of the most stylish girls on this planet, next to Rachel Bilson and Agyness Deyn. They're still stylish as ever, but I don't think I could ever pull off their very unique looks. I'd kill for Alexa Chung's shoe collection though.

runway inspiration.

Hello lovelies,
Today, whilst sifting through hundreds of images from Spring 2011 Paris Fashion Week, I stumbled on a new designer, one I've never heard of before, not that I know much about designers and their runway shows anyway. Still, Alexis Mabille: I wish I had your talent. Dayuuum. His Spring 2011 collection is amazing.
Mind officially blown.

Love, love and more love. The oversized bows, addition of stripes in all the right places, perfect spring colours- beige, white, gold, navy, puffy skirts (anyone got a better name for these?), and oh, the tights make me want to dismiss my no-fish-net-stockings-EVER rule, if I could just get my hands on a pair of those. The cropped bow blouse in the fourth image, or the cute pefect-for-spring dress outfit (shoes and accessories included!) in the fifth, please make your way to my wardrobe immediately.

strange and un-fashion-related post.

Oh golly me,
the weekend's gone far too quickly, and so has this much-needed break!
Hopefully there is still time to complete/continue my two-week holiday resolutions.
It's simple tasks, but
I'm trying hard to:
spend less time on the internet,
sleep earlier,
go for more walks with my puppy,
and finally, to post more and more and more.

***

Sometimes I like to just write,
and think about my hopes, my dreams,
the uncertainties of what is yet to come.
Life is a mysterious journey,
and I think that we forget sometimes,
how amazing it really is.
We all need to stop, just for the quickest of moments.
Because life is lived, yet somehow its beauty is forgotten,
akin to the way we never take time out to watch the sun disappear,
nor rise again,
as it has been doing so, our whole lives.

My reason for the talk of nonsensical nothings?
Simply, the sudden urge to.
Above is in fact an extract from a journal,
my journal,
kept hidden beneath a pile of plushes and fluffy pillows on my bed.
On one hand I love fashion,
more than warm feet in the morning (and that is a lot a lot a lot!).
On the other, I'm a dreamer,
I float away, into a makebelieve sea of love and beauty,
beyond the magnificence of a pair of Miu Miu spectator pumps,
or this season's most intricate floral patterns.
I'm not all about fashion.
This is a tiny taste of what goes on inside my head.

I've never been one to type out my thoughts and dreams,
reminisces of the past,
hopes for the future, and beyond.
I much preferred a diary, but yet I find myself suddenly typing out what I felt I should keep hidden.
I felt this blog should be purely fashion-related,
posts all about:
favoured collections, inspiring photoshoots with the prettiest of models, outfits of the day, new pairs of heels..
But. It's a new day, time for a change.
Truthfully, I love to write,
albeit I'm not the most-talented writer.
Maybe sometimes, I will find myself typing about my hopes, my wishes, my daydreams,
and please bare with me, when I do.
'In order to be irreplaceable,
one must always be different.'
-Coco Chanel (I knew she was a wise soul!)

All fingers crossed for the future.
Thankyou for reading, lovelies.

feels like spring, finally.

Hello, lovelies!
Today felt like spring finally! I've waited way too long (a whole month!) and spring is now here. It was a warm, perfect 25 degrees (Celsius, that is; not sure how to convert that to Fahrenheit, so sorry!), and so sunny out, I decided to go for an outfit photoshoot with my sister as photographer. Boy, I've missed sunny days.
This is just a quick post, I'm trying to post more regularly to really get this blogging business up and running, no neglection what. so. ever.

Black cuffed pants: Basque
Singlet: Witchery
Belt: Cue
Crochet Scarf: Sportsgirl
Snakeskin pumps: Tony Bianco
I am in love with these simple nude snakeskin pumps, despite the fact that it is almost impossible to walk in them. They are gorgeously crafted, and you know I'm a sucker for snakeskin! I wish I'd taken a closer shot of them to show you guys, but not to worry, I will some other sunny day!
Anywho, I'm off to enjoy the rest of my night with an annual concert held by the community, for the community. Scooping jelly from a cup and eating way too many spring rolls is what I live for. yuuuuuum.
'Till next time.
